As the spring weather is finally in full swing I cannot help but notice the bird’s singing and the white and yellow flowers popping up out of the grass. It all reminds me of the passage in the Bible about the birds and the flowers and how God cares for each one of them (Matthew 6:25-34). When we think of the victims of human trafficking it is often a number, like 27 million. It is difficult for our human minds to wrap around the idea of 27 million individuals with names, hopes, dreams, and personalities. How thankful I am that we have a God who cares about the details of every individual, and who knows exactly what is going on in each person’s life. Matthew 6:25-34 states how God cares for each bird, and then Luke 12:7 declares: “Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” It is comforting to me that the God of the universe cares for each victim of trafficking. Though I am overwhelmed by a number, He has each one wrapped in His loving arms. What a loving Father, He knows and loves all of His creation.
