Five years, that is how long I have been aware of the terrible reality of sex trafficking. I was writing a ten page research paper my senior year of high school and chose human trafficking from a list of possible topics to write about. I had no idea the lasting impact the research for that paper would have on me. I can recall staying up late reading books reporting the stories of young women who had been enslaved. It broke my heart to read that these young women did not choose this lifestyle, I think that is the fact that resonates with me the most. It seems like a lot of people cast judgment on these girls and think “They chose this lifestyle, and now they are reaping the consequences.” I know not all people think this way, but it crosses the thoughts of many. I want to change those thoughts and I want to raise awareness for the 27 million women and children being trafficked as I write this. I am done just thinking about making a difference, and I am going to start making a difference now. God did not call me to be comfortable while the world around me is in despair, He called me to go into all the world and preach the gospel. I believe freeing the victims of trafficking is a part of God's commission. So, after five years of knowing about this terrible reality I am starting this blog to let you, the reader know how you and I can join together to abolish human trafficking. Freedom4/24 I have seen the heartache of this world and I am ready to make a difference.
